kinput2-common software package provides Files shared among kinput2 packages, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install kinput2-common
kinput2-common is installed in your system.
Make ensure the kinput2-common package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep kinput2-common *
You will get with kinput2-common package name, version, architecture and description in a table
